The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) wishes to commission a project to consider a range of Market and Regulatory Frameworks that could support a repurposed or reconfigured GB gas network to deliver a total decarbonisation of heat. This project is an initial long-term futures piece to improve BEIS' understanding of the possible risks, uncertainties and other barriers that may arise in relation to market and regulatory frameworks if the GB gas network were to be repurposed or reconfigured to achieve 2050 decarbonisation objectives.

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. The contract will be for a period of 3 months unless terminated or extended by the Department in accordance with the terms of the contract. If extended up to a further 4 months duration.
Please note the value of this procurement has a range of 130 000 GBP to 200 000 GBP.
