The hired geotechnical engineers shall come under NVE's professional management. NVE currently has two geotechnical engineers in Trondheim and one in Tønsberg. There is also a position at NVE's main office in Oslo, which is currently empty. The work area will be nationwide.

II.2.4)Description of the procurement:
NVE has major assignments within mapping landslide dangers in quick clay areas and preventive assignments to reduce the danger of landslides.
NVE would like to strengthen the capacity by hiring in 2 geotechnical engineers from the private sector, who shall sit in NVE's professional environment at NVE's regional offices in either Trondheim or Tønsberg. The hired geotechnical engineers shall come under NVE's professional management. NVE currently has two geotechnical engineers in Trondheim and one in Tønsberg. There is also a position at NVE's main office in Oslo, which is currently empty. The work area will be nationwide.
The assignments will be project follow-up of reviews of quick clay zones, including the preparation of tenders, follow-up of ground surveys, geotechnical consultants and independent quality assurers. Other assignments will be updating quick clay zones on the internet, developing databases, calculating emission areas, professional assistance in NVE's securing projects in quick clay areas, professional assistance in crisis events, following-up messages of concern, assisting with area plan assessments etc.
