II.1.4)Short description:
The Norwegian Environment Agency shall have an overview of the environmental condition and development, assess the significance of emissions from various sources, and, in co-operation with other knowledge environments, develop and communicate environmental knowledge. The objective of this environmental monitoring programme is to contribute to assessment of the generation goal for selected, prioritised environmental poisons is achieved This shall be implemented by: monitoring the levels and exposure of selected environmental positions in biota along the Norwegian coast. — assessing the bioaccumulation of prioritised environmental poisons in biota near the coast — assessing if the implemented measures for the environmental poisons have had the requested effect — making assessment if further measures for environmental poisons need to be implemented — describing risk of environmental poisons in biota near the coast — covering the obligatory international monitoring requirements and reporting obligations. The Programme shall also contribute to compliance with monitoring requirements in accordance with the Water Framework Directive. Description of renewals:
The contract includes 3 options for prolongation of the contract, in addition to the initial contract period. The prolongation will be executed for one programme cycle at a time. If the contract is prolonged with 3 years, the last year with sampling is 2020. The programme will conclude, with completed analyses and data reports, in 2021.
