Southend-on-Sea Borough Council (the ‘Council’) is seeking to engage an experienced and appropriately qualified Chartered Structural Engineer to undertake all design work in relation to structural repairs, alterations, approved modifications and new works including contacting and obtaining permission and necessary Licences and approvals from the Marine Management Organisation (MMO), Environment Agency, obtaining Listed Building Consent English Heritage/Natural England approvals and to carry out annual structural condition surveys to preserve the future of the iconic Grade 2 Listed Building.

The appointment shall consist of all Consultants and Sub Consultants required to deliver the identified works within the attached Surveys. This includes the submission of Planning Applications/Listed Building consent to ensure that there are a minimum number of conditions to discharge, this also includes completing all necessary applications for Licences and approvals from Authoritative Organisations for example English Heritage/Natural England, Marine Management Organisation and the Environmental Agency.
The Consultant will be responsible for commissioning all surveys and providing specialist advice required in order to submit necessary applications and gain permissions and, subsequently, to take the structural elements of the project through from design to completion.
This Contract will be carried out under the ACE Professional Services Agreement 2017 with the ACE Schedule of Services: Civic and Structural Engineering Lead Consultant 2017.
