Trinity College Dublin is embarking on an ambitious integrated project to expand education and research activities across the Schools of Engineering, Natural Sciences, and Computer Science and Statistics. Collectively, these Schools provide a substantial part of Trinity's academic endeavour in STEM and fuel the graduate pipeline to meet industry needs. The growth in academic provision will coalesce in the E3 project — an initiative that will focus on teaching and research in Engineering, Energy and the Environment. Architect led design team consultancy services are sought for the creation of a new building, of approx 5 046 m2in size, the E3 Learning Foundry. Enabling works required include the demolition of existing buildings and parts of buildings, the relocation of activities from the site and the selection and preparation of accommodation for these activities. The site is at the south east end of Trinity College Campus.

Architect led design team services for the E3 Learning Foundry which includes demolition and enabling works, the construction of a new ‘living laboratory’ teaching building of approx 5 046 m2 and the refurbishment of ramp-up space in College to accommodate arriving staff in advance of the new building being built.
The new building provides an opportunity to create a striking building of outstanding architecture in the east end of the Trinity College Campus.
