    • TENDER NO. 1240:
      HEAD DESIGN CONSULTANCY SERVICES
      GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE CENTRE, GREEN SQUARE
The former Administration Building, Royal South Sydney Hospital Site, is located at 3 Joynton Avenue, Zetland. The site sits in a business/ industrial area with pockets of residential nearby. The area is actively undergoing transformation into a new urban precinct for the city. The site is owned by the City of Sydney Council and is situated within the proposed Green Square Town Centre Development Precinct. The site itself is locally listed and contains a number of locally listed heritage buildings. It is bound by three streets and a property. A business/ industrial property to the north, Joynton Avenue to the east, Hansard Avenue to the south and Portman Street to the west. Mature street trees surround the site. Vehicle and pedestrian site access is good.
Council is currently preparing the site for redevelopment. Remediation and site demolition works are underway. Council proposes to redevelop the site to contain a mix of residential, retail, community facilities and centralised green infrastructure.
The former Administration Building on this site, a locally heritage listed building, will be adaptively reused as a Green Infrastructure Centre. The building will be trigeneration ready' and have the capacity to contain trigeneration plant as well as recycled stormwater plant. Council's aspirations for this project are to achieve a high quality design which successfully incorporates the scheduled technical equipment in a contemporary manner that is sensitive to the heritage qualities of the building and its site. The building must communicate to the broader community an understanding of how its green infrastructure functions and the benefits in terms of sustainability.
Concept design work has been completed and a Development Application has been lodged.
The Council of the City of Sydney ("Council") invites Tenders from qualified and experienced consultancy teams, lead by a creative and inspiring Head Design Consultant (Architect), to provide design, documentation and construction stage services for this project and work with the City to deliver it.
