    West London mental health trust (the "Trust") requires an economic operator for the completion of the design and construction of a high secure mental health facility providing approximately 160 mental health care beds along with supporting facilities, all in a modern, safe and therapeutic setting.     The Trust requires an economic operator to construct a high secure mental health facility providing an estimated 160 mental health beds along with supporting facilities all in a modern and therapeutic setting. The contract will therefore involve the construction of buildings up to approximately 34 000 square metres in the area adjacent to the current Broadmoor Hospital site. In undertaking the construction work, the economic operator may also be required to demolish certain parts of and undertake refurbishment works on the existing Broadmoor Hospital site.

      The Trust anticipates that this will involve monthly valuation of work

      No specific legal form is required, but the Trust reserves the right to
      require a lead economic operator to undertake primary contractual
      liability for the contract or to require that each economic operator

      VI.3) Additional information
      Broadmoor Hospital is a High Security Hospital. It is the chosen site for
      a redevelopment project providing an estimated 160 mental health care beds
      along with supporting facilities all in a modern, safe, high secure and
      therapeutic setting. The project involves the value engineering of the
      design and the construction of buildings of up to approximately 34,000
      square metres in an area adjacent to the current Broadmoor Hospital site
      and has an overall estimated construction value of 150 000 000 GBP at
      current prices.
      The high profile development aims to utilise leading edge technology and
      best practice and to be regarded as a centre of clinical excellence. The
      Trust will be looking for an economic operator who can provide
      construction work demonstrating their own excellence through their
      innovative approach to construction solutions, coupled with their
      knowledge and understanding of security measures and protocols within this
      unique NHS environment.
      Any contract awarded will be subject to English law provided that the
      Trust reserves the right not to award any contract pursuant to this
      Notice. The Trust shall under no circumstances be responsible for the
      costs or expenses of any economic operator arising from participation in
      this procurement.
      The Trust may require, following award of this construction contract, to
      novate all or some of the design team contracts related to the Project to
      the successful economic operator and the economic operator is put on
      notice of this possibility.
      II.1.9 - variant bids may be accepted provided that the Trust's core
      requirements are met.
      II.2.1 - the total estimated value of the contract is around 150 000 000
      GBP. This factors in the estimated value of the "new build" construction,
      minor works on the site and design services, but excludes VAT.
      II.3 - the contract is expected at this stage to run for approximately 73
      months from contract award. This may change as the Project progresses and
      the Trust currently anticipates looking to the successful economic
      operator for innovation in relation to this aspect of the Project.
      III.2 - economic operators are requested to keep PQQ responses to a
      maximum of 20 pages, excluding appendices.
      IV.3.4 - the deadline in IV.3.4 shall be the deadline for submission of
      the PQQ response.
