PAMPHLET ARCHITECTURE : CALL FOR ENTRIES
WE’RE LOOKING FOR A NEW CENTURY OF ARCHITECTURAL IDEAS

Pamphlet Architecture was founded in 1977 as an alternative to the mainstream architectural press. Its goal is to encourage young architects and writers to put forth their ideas, theories, and designs in modest, affordable booklets that can be easily produced and purchased, to ensure a continuous, serious debate and discussion about architecture. Its success is legendary: Pamphlet Architecture helped launch the careers of architects from Steven Holl and Lebbeus Woods to Zaha Hadid, and has had an influence that far exceeds the ad-hoc nature of these humble publications.

To promote and provoke the development and circulation of new ideas, Pamphlet Architecture is again offering an opportunity for a new generation of architects, designers, theorists, urbanists, or landscape architects to publish their designs, manifestos, ideas, theories, ruminations, hopes, and insights for the future of the built and designed world.

The deadline for submissions is September 7, 2004. The winning submission will take on important issues facing architecture, landscape, and/or urban design today in a way that is as visually provocative as it is intellectually compelling. The winner will be given a grant of US$2000 to develop their proposal into a camera-ready manuscript, which will be published by Pamphlet Architecture, Ltd/Princeton Architectural Press as Pamphlet Architecture 27.
