The Thinktank Trust is inviting a suitably qualified and experienced Interior Design Specialist led Multi-Disciplinary Design Team to express an interest in being considered for inclusion on its tender list for the design and administration of approximately £1 400 000 of fit out/remodelling works in respect of the Science for All Seasons project. The fit out/ remodelling works include the development of a learning suite, flexible teaching space, new visitor facilities, a new entrance and upgrades shop and café facilities. The role also requires close liaison with Exhibition Designers and Contractors in respect of remodelling spaces to receive exhibition and orientation displays. The Multi-Disciplinary Design Team is to include an Interior Design Specialist, Access Consultant, Mechanical and Electrical Engineer, Structural Engineer and Contract Administrator. It is envisaged that the Interior Design Specialist will be the Lead Designer responsible for co-ordinating the Design Team and will also act in the capacity of Contract Administrator for the fit out works. The Lead Designer for the fit out works will retain all other disciplines within the multi-disciplinary team as sub-consultant. The project will be delivered in two stages: Stage 1 Scheme Design (to end RIBA Stage D Design) and Stage 2 Project Implementation (RIBA Stage E to completion). Both stages will be subject to major grant funding support.

II.2) QUANTITY OR SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT
II.2.1) Total quantity or scope:
The scope of works is to design and implement/administer approximately £1 400 000 of fit out works including developing: a new learning suite, flexible teaching space, a new entrance at ground floor level, new visitor facilities/orientation space, upgraded café and shop facilities. The Thinktank Trust wishes to retain the right to appoint the Multi-Disciplinary Fit Out / Administration Team as a direct appointment or as a sub-contract appointment to the Exhibition Works Designer/Administrator (being separately tendered). The Multi-Disciplinary Fit Out Design Team are deemed to have fully accepted the potential alternative approaches if they apply to be included on the tender shortlist. The Phase 1 Exhibition Fit Out to be designed and constructed by others has a works value of approximately £5 000 000.

Payment terms will be indicated in the contract documents. Tenders are to be priced in GBP. Payments will be made in GBP only. Funding for the project includes but is not restricted to contributions from the Thinktank Trust, major grant applications and fund raising.
