    Assignment
Expressions of Interest are invited from architect-led multi-disciplinary teams to design a new community library facility in Bentley, Walsall. The new library is seen as a flagship project that will create a new urban heart for the community and act as a catalyst for regenerating the Bentley Local Centre and the wider area. The new building will need to successfully combine the functions of a community library and other potential service providers (e.g. Bentley Beginnings Day Nursery) within a single, purpose-built facility. Selection will take the form of a competitive process, which will invite a shortlist of up to six architect-led teams to generate design proposals and attend an interview. The intention is to initially appoint the winner of the competition to develop their design proposal up to RIBA Stage D (planning application). Walsall Council is currently exploring a variety of procurement routes to deliver the Bentley Community Library project. Although the winning team could potentially be novated across to a developer, Design & Build Contractor and/or retained directly by the Council through to project completion, there is no guarantee that the initial commission will necessarily extend beyond RIBA Stage D. Architectural and related services. Architectural design services.
