Personal profile and office profile

  1. How do I register on competitionline.com?

    You can register very easily and free of charge by clicking on the following link: http://www.competitionline.com/en/people/register.
    As a registered user, you can not only enter your personal profile but also your office profile together with all references (e.g. competition successes and projects) and can subscribe to our daily competitionline newsletter. You can enter your office profile by clicking on this link: http://www.competitionline.com/en/offices/insert

  2. What are the benefits of being a logged-in user?

    You have to be logged in in order to make changes to your personal and office profiles, create bookmarks, and subscribe to the newsletter. If your office has a membership or a PREMIUM office profile or has taken out a Calls for Tender subscription, you can enjoy all the advantages of your membership or subscription if you are logged in (detailed information on our products is available here: Products).

  3. How can I change the email address that I use to log in?

    Log in at www.competitionline.com and open your personal profile by opening the My account drop-down menu in the top right of the screen and selecting My profile. By clicking on the orange 'Edit' button in the CONTACT INFORMATION section of your personal profile, you can replace your current email address with a different one. You can then log in as usual with your newly entered email address and your old password. If you have subscribed to the newsletter, this will be sent to your new email address. Please note that each email address can only be used once on our platform.

    Log in at www.competitionline.com and open your personal profile by opening the My account drop-down menu in the top right of the screen and selecting My profile. You can enter your office work in the PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE section of your profile. To do this, click on the orange 'Edit' button and search for the appropriate office using the Select office button or, for further entries, the Add entry button. Then select your position. Once you have saved everything, click on the office name to go to your office profile.

    a) If you are the first person to link to a (newly created) office profile, your name will initially be displayed there with a line through it. By clicking on the orange 'Edit' button in the OWNERS/PARTNERS or CURRENT EMPLOYEES section of the profile (depending on which position you selected in your personal profile), you can choose whether or not your name will be visible to other users by selecting the appropriate option in the form that opens up. Finally click on Save.

    b) If you link to a pre-existing office profile that has already been linked to other personal profiles, you won't be able to see your own name there at first. Your personal profile will be in the Employee awaiting confirmation queue. Your affiliation with the office has to be confirmed by somebody who has already been linked to the office profile and confirmed (authorized editor)

  5. What are the benefits of linking my personal and office profiles?

    If you link your personal profile to an office profile you will receive editing rights in order to enable you to edit the office profile, upload images, and make the most of any potential office membership or PREMIUM office profile. It should be noted in this respect that you have to be confirmed as an employee of the respective office (see Point 4)

  6. I can't see the orange 'Edit' button. What should I do?

    In order to be able to include images with your competition entries, for example, you have to be registered with competitionline.com. (Not yet registered? ➜ http://www.competitionline.com/en/people/register). Your personal profile must also be linked to the corresponding office profile and you must have been confirmed as an employee. Only then will you be able to see the orange 'Edit' button for editing entries.

  7. How do I change the contact details in my office or personal profile?

    Log in at www.competitionline.com and open your personal profile by opening the My account drop-down menu in the top right of the screen and selecting My profile. You can use the orange 'Edit' button next to the CONTACT INFORMATION section to edit and supplement this information. To change the contact information in your office profile, click on the name of your office in your personal profile. By clicking on the orange 'Edit' button next to the CONTACT INFORMATION section of your office profile, you can edit and supplement this information

  8. Why haven't my entries been saved?

    One possible cause if that you have only logged in temporarily. When you log onto www.competitionline.com, we recommend that you check the box saying Keep me logged in on this computer (Auf diesem Rechner eingeloggt bleiben). This will stop you from being automatically logged out after a given period, after which any information entered will not be saved.
    To make the process of uploading projects or competition entries as smooth as possible, it is important not to leave the edit window open for long periods of time, but to save everything from time to time.

  10. How do I delete my personal profile?

    If you no longer need your personal profile and wish to remove it from our platform, simply send us an email to MTlgZV1mN1pmZGdca2BrYGZlY2BlXCVaZmQ= with the email address that you used to register.

  1. How do I include references in my office or personal profile?

    To include project references (in planning, under construction, and built) in your office profile, you first need to be logged in. After calling up your office profile, scroll down to the BUILT PROJECTS section on the left-hand side and click on the 'Edit' button. Enter the project name to check whether your project is already on the platform. If your project is not in the list of hits, you can create it using the Create new project button. Your newly created project will appear in the reference list on your office profile with a line through it, as it will still be blocked. competitionline's editorial staff will unblock it for you.
    If your reference list is missing the result of a competition, a negotiated procedure or an award, we will be happy to publish this for you. To enable us to do this, email us the award offer and the jury minutes of the competition to MTVtYG5wZ29uO15qaGtgb2RvZGppZ2RpYCleamg=. You will be automatically notified by our editorial staff as soon as the result has been entered on competitionline.com.

  2. How can I link my office profile to a competition result?

    If a competition result has already been entered on our platform but your office is not yet linked to it, you can add your competition entry yourself. To do this, log into www.competitionline.com and open the project in question. Scroll down the left-hand side until you reach the Add competition entry button and click on this. Link your office by clicking on Add office, entering your office name or office ID and selecting your office profile. Finally, save your changes.

  3. How can I add participating offices to a competition entry or project?

    Extra offices that participated in competition entries and projects can be added at any time. To add extra offices to a project, open the project concerned. Clicking on the orange 'Edit' button in the PROJECT PARTICIPANTS section will open an edit screen, in which you can add the participating offices and employees.
    You can add extra participants to a competition by opening the results page of the competition in question and clicking on the Add competition entry button (above "PROJECT DATA"). In the Prize group category, select the prize group with the name of your company and add the extra participants using the Add office button. Finally, save your changes.

  4. Why can't I edit competition entries/projects even though my personal profile is linked to my office profile?

    If you are unable to edit entries and information on an office profile even through your personal profile is linked to this office profile, this may be because you are not yet authorized to carry out edits. If this is the case, somebody who is already linked to the office profile (authorized editor) must confirm that you work for the office, so that you can be given access rights to edit the office profile (see also Personal profile and office profile Point 4).

  5. Why can't I see the images in all of the competition entries?

    he visibility to all users of images uploaded in a competition entry depends on whether the office that added the images has a competitionline membership, or has purchased a PREMIUM office profile. If the office is a member or has a PREMIUM office profile, its images are visible to all users, regardless of whether the users are logged in or not.
    The images in competition entries of offices with a BASIC office profile are visible to member offices and persons linked to these offices.

  6. How can I see the images in my own competition entry?

    To see all the images that were uploaded in your competition entry, open the competition in question and click on the View entry button under your company's name. if your office has a BASIC office profile, you have to be logged in in order to be able to see the competition entry images.

Membership and subscriptions

  1. How long does my membership or subscription last?

    After taking out the membership or another subscription with competitionline, the contract period is 1 year (365 days). The contract will be extended automatically, and can be terminated at any time.
    (For example: if you take out a membership on December 12, 2015 the contract term will run until December 11, 2016).

  2. Is there a notice period for terminating my membership or subscription?

    There is no notice period for terminating your competitionline membership or subscription. If you would like to terminate your membership or another competitionline subscription, please send us your written termination on or before the last day of the contract period, either by email to MTJnbGRtPmFta25jcmdyZ21samdsYyxhbWs= or by fax to +49 30 229 084 651.

  3. Will my membership or subscription end as soon as I have terminated it?

    If you terminate your membership or another competitionline subscription, this will end upon the expiration of the 1-year (365-day) contract period and will no longer be automatically extended.

Job postings

  1. How can I see how many job postings I still have in my quota?

    As part of your membership, you can submit 5 job postings in our job market free of charge. Your quota can be used within the contract period of 365 days, starting on the date on which your membership was taken out. The order date of your membership can be found in the information box in the top right section of your office profile.
    The number of job postings remaining in your quota will be displayed to you in the "Submit a job posting" form. For each additional job posting you will automatically receive a member discount, and you will have 5 further job postings in the next year of your membership.

  2. The job that was advertised has been filled. What happens to my job posting?

    If you have been able to find a suitable candidate for the job that you advertised, you have the option to deactivate your current job posting. To do this, log into www.competitionline.com and open the job posting in question. Click on the button in the top right of the screen labeled Mark position as "assigned". Finally, confirm in the pop-up window that the job posting should be marked as assigned.

  3. Why are my job postings displayed with a line through them on my office profile?

    On your office profile, you will see an overview of all the job postings submitted to date in the JOBS section. Postings that have expired can no longer be viewed by the public and will be displayed in your office profile with a line through them. The postings that are still currently listed in our job market can be found in your office profile.

  4. How can I re-submit a previous job posting?

    It is not possible to re-submit a job posting that has expired, however you can use the same text that you used in a previously expired job posting when submitting a new posting. To do this, log into www.competitionline.com and open your office profile. Then call up the expired posting by opening it in your office profile's archive, and copy the relevant text.

Newsletter

  1. How do I subscribe to the competitionline newsletter?

    To be able to subscribe to the daily competitionline newsletter, you need a personal profile with a valid email address. When registering with www.competitionline.com you have the option to subscribe to our free-of-charge newsletter. You can also make this and any other settings on your personal profile at any time. To do this, log in and open your personal profile by opening the My account drop-down menu in the top right of the screen and selecting My profile. In the PROFILE SETTINGS / PASSWORD section in the right-hand column you will find the orange Subscribe to and configure newsletter settings button that will enable you to subscribe to the newsletter. If your office has taken out a competitionline membership, you additionally have the option to select the calls for tender that you would like to see in your newsletter.

  2. How can I get my project into the newsletter?

    Every day, built projects grouped by topic are published in the newsletter. The topics can be found in our Topics Schedule: Download
    The construction projects are uploaded by the offices. Particularly attractive and complete projects (criteria include images, plans, project description and project data) have a good chance of being published in the newsletter and on our homepage. Feel free to recommend your construction project to us. To do this, send us the link to our project at MTNtb2xnYmBxcD1gbGptYnFmcWZsa2lma2IrYGxq, Subject: Projektvorschlag Newsletter.

  3. How can I unsubscribe from the newsletter?

    There are two ways for you to unsubscribe from our daily newsletter: Scroll down to the bottom of the newsletter and click on the Unsubscribe from newsletter link, or log into the website, open up your personal profile by opening the My account drop-down menu in the top right of the screen and selecting My profile, then scrolling down the right-hand column to PROFILE SETTINGS / PASSWORD. The Subscribe to and configure newsletter settings button allows you to unsubscribe from the newsletter for the email address displayed by unchecking the box and saving your changes.
