Explanatory text
Sedimentation - the process of creating landscape, from the sea to the city
The concept underlying to all intervention stems from the environmental and social dynamics of Figueira da Foz and Buarcos and is based on two key ideas:
a) the city as the beach is generated by the sedimentation layer that mineralized and become perennial;
b) the livability and relationship between the city and people and also the character of their spatialities should not be seasonal.
In terms of urban design, it is assumed a form inspired by the local landscape where the mineralized space is eroded by the sea action, creating biomorphic lines that promote altimetric transitions by creating accessibility to the plane of contact with the sea.
