The 8 ha Quirijn Park is situated on a narrow strip of land that was once intended for the main traffic access to North Tilburg (NL). The new urban development plan transforms this open area into a living link between the formerly separated neighbourhoods of Quirijnstok and Heikant, and brings about increased housing differentiation within North Tilburg. The emphasis therefore also lies on the new connections between the bordering neighbourhoods. The park works like a ‘zip fastener’ between both districts.

A great diversity of usage opportunities and experiences is created with a limited number of ingredients. The network of paths forms the nervous system of the park. It lays down comfortable connections between the neighbourhoods. This matrix is not only made up of paths and open areas it also incorporates new variations in ground levels, a bridge, stairway, play equipment and furnishings.
