Short description of the contract or purchase(s): The
Board seeks to appoint an architect to design and administer the
procurement of and lead the design team for a new MRI suite within
Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, Dumfries, with an estimated capital
construction cost of 750 000 GBP. The architect is to employ or engage as
subcontractors, such civil and structural engineers, mechanical and
electrical services engineers, quantity surveyors, planning supervisors
and other specialist consultants as necessary. The construction contract
will be let by the Board. It will be administered, and the works inspected
by the architect with the support of his subcontractors. The project
consists of alterations and adaptations to an existing area within
Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary to accommodate the MRI suite. The
accommodation is planned to include scanner room, technical equipment
room, control room, in-patient and out-patient waiting areas, patient
changing, general store, toilet accommodation, reception/office
accommodation. |

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: II.3. Duration of the
contract or time-limit for completion: completion: 6.7.2007. The
authority will incorporate a standstill period of a minimum of 11 calendar
days at the point information on the award of the contract is communicated
to tenderers. This period allows unsuccessful tenderers to seek further
defriefing from the contracting authority before the contract is entered
into. Applicants have two working days from notification of the award
decision to request additional debriefing and that information will be
provided a minimum of 3 working days before expiry of the standstill
period. Such additional information should be requested from the address
in point I.1. If an appeal regarding the award of a contract has not
been successfully resolved the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations
2006 provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of
harm by a breach of the rules to take action in a court of competent
jurisdiction. Any such action must be brought promptly (generally within 3
months). Where a contract has not been entered into the court may order
the settling aside of the award decision or order the authority to amend
any document and may award damages. If the contract has been entered into
the court may only award damages. |
