*** Details of the Request For Proposals ***

This Request for Proposals is issued by BC Hydro to obtain Proposals from parties wishing
to provide the following services to BC Hydro:

BC Hydro is seeking (1) one well-qualified Proponent to provide integrated Architectural,
Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Design (ASME Design) services with the ability to
provide these services under any of the (3) three following Building Development Delivery
Models;

- Construction Management at Risk
- Design-Bid-Build
- Design-Build

The successful Proponent will provide ASME Design services, on an as-needed basis, to
assist in major renovations or new construction of industrial buildings at various BC
Hydro locations throughout the Province of British Columbia. The buildings operated and
maintained by BC Hydro generally consist of multi-use office, warehouse, work shop, truck
bay, vehicle storage and yard storage components.

The contract is intended for a (5) five year Term with (2) two optional (3) three year
extension terms.

Proponents that respond to this RFP (ASME Design RFP) are also invited to respond to RFP
1139 Construction Management, which was issued on May 2, 2012 (CM RFP). However, BC Hydro
wishes to engage different (non-affiliated) Proponents to be the ASME Design and
Construction Management consultants under these RFPs. Accordingly if a Proponent, or any
Affiliate of that Proponent, enters into a contract pursuant to the CM RFP, that Proponent
will not be eligible to be awarded a Contract under this ASME Design RFP, nor will that
Proponent or its Affiliates be eligible to act as general contractor under any Design-Bid-
Build projects or as design build contractor under any Design-Build projects under this
program. Please refer to SECTION 6 - SPECIAL FEATURES for further information.
