The Haulbowline Former Irish Steelworks Factory Site is located in Cork Harbour Ireland and is approximately 11.3ha in size. On the North, South and East it is bordered by the Cork Harbour Waters and on the West it is bordered by lands under the control of the Irish Naval Services. The Haulbowline Island Former Irish Steelworks Factory Site Remediation is to be executed under a Design-Build Contract.
The project will include:
— Contaminated Land Remediation, including but not limited to, refinement (investigation), demolition, soil & groundwater remediation, capping, gas protection measures and all associated works;
— Protection and/or repair and/or demolition of existing Buildings, Structures and Features (including protected structures);
— Protection and/or repair and/or demolition of existing seawalls, quay dock and lock walls, breakwaters, bridges, retaining walls and flood defences (in the context of undertaking and securing the integrity of the remediation works);
— Protection and/or removal of existing site services including outfalls and headwalls;
— Protection and/or repair and/or demolition of existing site surface and subsurface structures/features;
— Protection and/or repair and/or demolition of existing perimeter fencing and security;
— Establish safe access to and around the site for vehicles and pedestrians;
— Provision of utilities for the site.
