    Invitation
Norway shall be a guest county at the book fair in Frankfurt in 2019, 16-20 October. The Project "Norway as a guest county at the book fair in Frankfurt" ("The Guest County Project") involves being present and cultural activities throughout the German speaking area throughout 2019.
The guest country project is one of the largest ever projects in Norwegian cultural exports. The project is financed by the government c/o 3 ministries, as well as through funding from organisations in the Norwegian book industry, private institutions and industry.
NORLA organises the project on behalf of Norway. NORLA, Norwegian literature abroad, is the export body for Norwegian literature.
NORLA executes a one-step open planning and design competition for the concept and design of the pavilion Norway shall have as a guest land at the book fair in Frankfurt in 2019. The pavilion in this competition does not refer to a free-standing building, but a room with an interior consisting of one or more construction to be built under a roof. The pavilion shall be built in a hall at the fair in Frankfurt. The hall is 2,300 m2. Design and concept proposals are therefore about fulling this hall in the best possible manner.

The physical construction of the pavilion is not part of this announcement. The construction will be announced separately. The implementation of the construction of the pavilion will take place in close consultation with the winning team.
