Opportunity Description:
The Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board (EMRB) is interested in the development of a Regional Agriculture Master Plan (RAMP), the result of an evolving conversation focused on the importance of agriculture as a source of food, in supporting the growth and diversification of the agri-economy.
A Regional Agriculture Master Plan will provide:
- further direction to the Board, Regional Stakeholders and the Province to support the objectives of the Agriculture Policy Area of the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Growth Plan Re-imagine.Plan.Build. (EMRGP or Growth Plan);
- the region’s decision makers with further policy direction and a tool to support and sustain rural and urban agriculture that is consistent with the principles and objectives of the Growth Plan; and
- certainty and flexibility for the existing agricultural sector to position the region to capitalize on future agricultural opportunities enabling growth and sustainability of the sector for future generations.
