II.2.4)Description of the procurement:
In the Parliamentary Resolution 9S (2015-2016), the Norwegian Parliament emphasised a great need for knowledge on topographic features. The assignment´s main purpose is to map valuable nature in prioritised areas where the expectation is to find terrestrial topographic features that are valuable (either topographic features that are threatened, or topographic features where threatened species live). In addition, the Norwegian Parliament has emphasised mapping areas that are currently poorly mapped, as well as areas with a lot of development pressure on them.
The intention of the assignment is to obtain data on topographic features by field mapping in accordance with the current version of Nature in Norway (NiN). In 2018, the assignment includes selection mapping of 76 terrestrial topographic features that are of national management interest (NNF). The selection covers the criteria given in the White Paper 14 (2015-2016) Nature for Live and consists of topographic features on the Norwegian red list of topographic features 2011, in addition to topographic features proposed by an external group (Aarrestad et al. 2017). Furthermore, the assignment shall determine the ecological quality in locations with topographic features that are of national management interest. The method for assessing the location quality was developed by an expert group and is it is based on scientific criteria (Evju et al. 20172). Red listed species, foreign species and other species that are relevant for assessing and determining the location quality shall be registered.
Nature diversity is divided into types on several levels NiN: Landscape types (landscape level), topographic features (nature system level) and life medium. This assignment is limited to the nature system level in NiN.
