    Aufgabe
    Die Europäische Kommission bemüht sich stets um Effizienzsteigerung und Kosteneinsparungen sowie um die Verbesserung ihrer Ökobilanz. Gemäß diesen Zielen und auch den entsprechenden Ambitionen der Region Brüssel will sie einige ihrer alternden Gebäude durch moderne, umweltfreundliche Büros ersetzen.

    Dazu organisiert die Kommission einen internationalen Architekturwettbewerb und wählt für ihr gegenwärtig größtes Immobilienprojekt in Brüssel – die Neugestaltung des Gebäudekomplexes Rue de la Loi 130 (daher der Name des Auswahlverfahrens: Loi 130) - nun die besten Gestaltungsentwürfe aus.

    Bei diesem Wettbewerb sind Teams aus Architekten, Landschaftsarchitekten, Ingenieuren für Gebäudetechnik und Tragwerksplaner aus der ganzen Welt zur Einreichung zukunftsorientierter, innovativer, nachhaltiger und kosteneffizienter Projektvorschläge aufgerufen.

    Mit einer Brutto-Grundfläche von 175 000 bis 190 000 m² wird der neue innerstädtische Gebäudekomplex eine Gesamtfläche bieten, auf der Büros für mindestens 5 250 Menschen, zwei Kinderbetreuungseinrichtungen, ein Besucherzentrum für jährlich 345 000 Besucher, Restaurants und Geschäfte auf einer Fläche von 3 000 m² sowie Grünflächen entstehen. Mit dem Projekt wird ein neuer Zugang zur U-Bahnstation Maelbeek entstehen, und der gesamte Gebäudekomplex wird den höchsten Sicherheitsstandards entsprechen.

    Es sind 3 Preise mit einem Gesamtwert von 300 000 EUR wie folgt vorgesehen:
    1. Preis: 120 000 EUR
    2. Preis: 100 000 EUR
    3. Preis: 80 000 EUR

    Für die für den Wettbewerb ausgewählten Bewerber werden in Phase 1 des Wettbewerbs 300 000 EUR für die Honorare und in der 2. Phase 300 000 EUR für die Honorare festgelegt. Für weitere Details siehe Ziffer 5 der Wettbewerbsbestimmungen.

    Ausstellung In der Ausstellung werden die 3 Preisträger des Wettbewerbs und alle eingereichten Wettbewerbsarbeiten gezeigt. Jedes Projekt wird mit einem Modell und einer Auswahl von Bildern, Plänen und Informationen zum Energiekonzept präsentiert. Ein Zitat der Verfasser erklärt die Ideen, Prioritäten und Ziele des Entwurfs.

    Neben den Projekten wird anhand von Bildern, Videos und Zeitplänen das Wettbewerbsverfahren – von der Veröffentlichung bis zur Entscheidung der Kommission - erklärt.

    „perspective.brussels“, regionales Kompetenzzentrum und Initiator der territorialen Entwicklungsstrategie von Brüssel, hat zu der Ausstellung mit einem historischen Überblick über die Entwicklung des Europaviertels und einer Erklärung über die planungsrechtlichen Regeln für das Projekt Loi 130 beigetragen.

      The European Commission is organizing an international restricted interdisciplinary architectural competition in two phases for the construction of a building complex "Project Loi 130" in Brussels. The competition is open to applicants providing the key competences (architecture, landscape architecture, building services engineering and structural engineering).

      The project is located in the "European Quarter" in Brussels. The site has an approximate size of 24 000 m2. The goal of the project competition is to redevelop the site into an efficient building complex for the European Commission with an approximate gross floor area above ground between 175 000 – 190 000 m2. The mixed use complex should provide office space for at least 5.250 employees, conference facilities, two childcare centers, the Commission´s visitor center, retail facilities, a car park and a new entrance to the Maelbeek subway station.
