      The works involve the refurbishment and redevelopment of the ground and first floors of Prince Charles Hospital. The works included external works to upgrade and provide parking and site lighting. The primary reason for these works is to undertake works to improve fire compartmentation and enclosures that will require the full strip out to remove asbestos. Clinical improvements are being undertaken as part of these works. The works have been separated onto 4 phases:

      Phase 1a: Enabling works to provide decant and temporary kitchen. These works have been approved and are in the construction phase and due for completion in October 2018.

      Phase 1b: This is the works to provide the permanent kitchen / dining and pharmacy on the ground floor. This phase also includes a new LV switchroom and infrastructure and a new plant room to serve the kitchen and pharmacy.

      Phase 2: This phase creates decant facilities within the existing hospital building and the refurbishment of the much of the ground and first floors. This phasing is included in appendix B

      Phase 3: This phase is the remaining areas on the ground and first floor. This phasing is included in appendix B

      Phase 4 and the final car parking external works and infrastructure.

      Phases 3 and 4 will be instructed under compensation events to the Phase 2 contract.

      This appointment will initially be for phase 1b. Separate appointments will be made on approval of each phase of the works.
