    Aufgabe
    The purpose of this service contract is to expand and deepen the work initiated in the 2017 scoping study (https://publications.europa.eu/en/publication-detail/-/publication/d6bb33aa-2bf3-11e8-b5fe-01aa75ed71a1/language-en/format-PDF/source-68999387), with a view to develop an integrated, comprehensive and ready-to-use methodology to assess the impact of trade liberalisation (potential and actual; and associated changes in trade flows) on biodiversity.
    Such methodology should allow for a flexible and context-specific utilisation; depending e.g. on the States involved, their biodiversity and ecosystems, the features of the Trade measure(s) considered, as well as on the level of analysis sought (general assessment, or detailed and in-depth one).
    Leistungsumfang
    In order to achieve the objectives of the contract, the contractor should carry out the tasks set out below:
    — Task 1: Compilation of relevant work (within and outside the EU), including the scoping study referred to above as well as possible other existing methodologies and indicators to assess the impact (potential and effective) of Trade liberalisation on biodiversity and ecosystems,
    — Task 2: Analysis of strengths as well as gaps, weaknesses and challenges of current knowledge: based on the outcome of Task 1, Task 2 will include an analysis of gaps, weaknesses and challenges of current knowledge /existing methodologies,
    — Task 3: Developing a robust and comprehensive methodology to assess the impact of trade liberalisation on biodiversity, ecosystems and ecosystems services: based on the outcome of Task 2, Task 3 will include the development of a robust and comprehensive integrated methodology to assess the impact of trade liberalisation on biodiversity, ecosystems and ecosystems services.
