MORAGOLLA HYDRO POWER PROJECT – REVIEW OF FEASIBILITY STUDY AND PREPARATION OF DETAILED DESIGN AND BIDDING DOCUMENTS

1. General
The Government of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka (GOSL) has applied for a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Sustainable Power Sector Support Project, and intends to utilize part of the loan towards the procurement of consultancy services for the proposed Moragolla Hydro Power Project (HPP) – Review of Feasibility Study and Preparation of Detail Design and Bidding Documents, of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), the state owned Public Power Utility.

Moragolla Hydropower Project Parameters are as follows:
a) Capacity – Approximately 30MW
b) Annual Energy – 81.65 GWh
c) Dam height and Crest length – 35 m / 214.5 m
d) Reservoir capacity and area at full supply level – 4.2 MCM / 36.5 ha
e) Length of tunnel – 2.9 km
f) Resettlement – 23 families
g) Transmission line – 132 kV line of 1.1 km

2. Consultancy Services
The objective of obtaining consulting services is to (a) carry out a Review of the Feasibility Study of Moragolla Hydropower Plant, and (b) carry out detailed investigation and prepare detail designs, specifications and bidding documents for procuring a contractor(s) to construct and commission the works.
