Erläuterungstext
The main goal of this project is to match the hospital’s original character of “an ensemble of pavillons in the nature” with the need of a heavier density. Consequently with this aim we propose:
1) to save and restore the building that already insists on the lot;
2) to make of this building the very “center” of the composition both by a formal (it is an interesting traditional architecture), functional (it will house the library) and symbolic point of view (tradition and modernity fusion);
3) to house the other functions in individual buildings sized in order to mantain the “pavillonaire” spirit of the original masterplan;
4) to link all the buildings with a glass-roofed foyer that preserves a visual and physical permeability through the lot.
