Erläuterungstext

1. Quarter Park
A inlay of water permeable surface is framed by tree groups, creating different room characters and a "hall like" volume. The multifunctional free space underneath is appropriate for markets, festivals or other events.
Moveable furniture can be grouped to create individual venues or private zones.
Fixed benches and play elements are placed in the shadow of the trees.

2. Tech Forum
Raised planting beds with trees are framed by a seating bench and offer to take a pause, to meet colleagues or just spend the lunchtime outside. In front of the buildings are loading and drop off zones.

3 a) Historical Railyways
The former railway tracks remain as a linear element and point out the direction to the nearby station Baar Lindenpark. Within the old track bed the typical pioneer vegetation may develop naturally. Plants and animals can settle down and transform the devoid urban element in a characteristic lively habitat.

3. Track Lane
A pedestrian and bike path follows the rails sideways and leads from the station to the central V-Zug Plaza and into the quarters. Residents, employees and visitors follow the tracks, which obtain the identity of the special location and the history of V-ZUG AG. The material is a coloured concrete pavement.

3.b) Track Boulevard
The railway tracks are embedded in a special coloured concrete pavement and run along a broad sidewalk. In the northern part large trees, benches and movable furnitures invite to rest or to have an outdoor lunch. Seats, tables, wooden decks and planting pots on rails can be moved to create individual zones.

3 c) Lunch Corners
Along the Track Lane three little pocket parks are attached to the Track Lane and invite to meet for a chat in the shade of trees. The mineral surface material is permeable to water.

4. Green Backyard
The courtyard of a closed housing development is framed by a wide walkway of a mineral surface. It offers seating elements and is made of a mineral, water permeable surface. A green inlay fills the centre, which is endowed by tree groups. It offers a playing zone and a rainwater trough.

5. V-ZUG Plaza
The eye-catching design and central position make the V-ZUG Plaza to the heart of the V-ZUG Quarters.
It points out the access area for the V-ZUG fabrication site, and acts as a link between production and housing / technology zones. The pattern concept referes to the stainless steel panel of a washer drum. A raster of large coloured paving stones are regulary perforated. The wells fulfill 3 different functions like a water fountain, a seating element and one filled with gravel, as drainage and planting bed.

5 a) V-ZUG Promenade
The V-ZUG Promenade leads from the main road Baarerstrasse to the V-Zug Plaza and into the production side.
Seating zones are organized in a broad stripe made of coloured concrete.
