Gestaltung der Überführung Bussa / Concorso Internazionale di Progettazione Cavalcavia Bussa

This competition aims to create a new park from a road bridge crossing railway tracks at the Garibaldi Station in the North of Milan. The starting point for our entry was to imagine the park as a cloud wrapping over the streets and railway, connecting the old neighbourhoods and the skyscrapers. The cloud becomes a flexible grid of points where different social and ecological possibilities can emerge depending on the changing uses, weather, seasons, and people.
The point cloud defines density of activity and establishes a framework for a number of different permanent and temporary installations. The future shape of the park will adapt to meet the needs of local people for sports facilities, cultural events, places to eat and drink, and natural spaces.
