START FOR TALENTS: London School of Arts in Shoreditch

The neighborhood of Shoreditch remained, until the decade of the last century, on the edge of London. Only in the Nineties knows a definite revival, after a steady decline, which had marked the history of the Twentieth Century. In Victorian times the area lived the greatest splendor with the increase of the music hall and shows that echoed in the theaters of the West End were destroyed during the bombings of World War II. A process of social rebirth was deployed by artists and intellectuals who arrived in Britain, they chose this area to stay, given the low cost of rent. It has become today one of the most cool, allowing middle and upper classes to return and recover many old abandoned factories. In this general process of growth we want to think of a SCHOOL OF ARTS meaning art as identity and motive of the rebirth of the neighborhood. A meeting place for artists from all over the world where debates, exhibitions and workshops will enliven the spaces. An architecture that upholds the return of Shoreditch to the glories of the past.

PRG detailed technical or extracts are not material of competition for not constrain the work of the contestants that will be judged also on the ability to find information added independently. Shown below are the functional requirements of the project (you can be integrated with other areas chosen at the discretion of the participants): 4 laboratory(painting, sculpture, film, photography) _200mq; 8 classrooms for lessons_50mq; 4 offices_25mq; 1 block bathrooms per floor (not fixed height for the building); 1 deposit material 75mq; 1 looker room for staff_50mq; 1 technical room_200mq; 1 Indipendent restaurant _100mq; hall & reception 100 mq. The surfaces are given suggestions to the design, are intended to be adaptable to different needs.

INITIAL: from 24/08-13/09 price 15,00euro, REGULAR:from 14/09-22/11 price 20,00euro, SPECIAL:from 23/11-04/12 (deadline 23:59) price 25,00euro. 

RESULTS AND PRIZES:

The winners will be announced on the website of the Association no later than the date of 01/09/15. Will be deserving the first three works as well as any other projects which are not excluded special mentions.
