Redevelopment of George Square
Finalist
Landschaftsarchitektur
Erläuterungstext
The design is a contemporary re-interpretation of Glasgow’s historic square: a contained space with ‘entrances’, pathways, green spaces, trees, planting, a central focal point and seating.
The design takes the ‘green square’ to form dynamic quadrants around a central water feature. The centre of the water feature generates the subdivision of the quadrants into ‘gardens’. ‘Entrances’ from each corner converge onto the water feature leading you into the Square.
