THE HAMMERSMITH HI-LINE
Site:
Close to the centre of Hammersmith, this is a 280m long abandoned railway viaduct, that descends to the level of busy railway lines.
Description:
At the west end, the viaduct at lower level, close to the busy railway tracks, is the site for Future Food, the London Hydroponic Centre.
Towards the centre, the viaduct has been repurposed as the Hi-Line Promenade, with wild and natural planting.
Closest to Lyric Square a deck has been built over the railway lines, providing space for two biomes, a boardwalk, seating steps and a small arena.
