      II.1.5) Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
      The University of Surrey intends to expand its Faculty of Health and
      Medical Studies which will involve the construction of three new academic
      buildings on its Manor Park Campus in Guildford. The buildings will
      contain bio-science laboratories (some to be Cat 3), lecture theatres,
      academic offices and ancillary accommodation. Total floor area of the
      buildings will be around 9,000 sq metres with a construction value of
      around 18 000 000 GBP.
      Construction is intended to commence towards the end of 2013 with
      completion of all the buildings by September 2015. This particular
      requirement is for the provision of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
      design services.
      After the return of pre qualification questionnaires (PQQ’s) referred to
      in this Notice, a short list of suitably qualified M&E consultants will be
      drawn up by the University based on the criteria detailed in the PQQ.
      It is the University’s intention that the appointed QS/EA previously
      advertised in EU Notice No. 2012/S127-210903, will assist the University
      in the selection of the M&E consultant.
