United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) hereby 
invite qualified companies to submit their design proposals as follows:
UNESCO in Afghanistan and the Afghan Ministry of Information and Culture, with 
the generous financial support of the Republic of Korea, have committed to 
implement a Cultural Centre building close to the boundaries of the World Heritage 
property of the Cultural Landscape and Archaeological Remains of Bamiyan. This 
request for proposal is a one-stage open architectural design competition to select 
the design of the Cultural Centre. 
The purpose of this notice is to provide general information on the requirements 
for the procurement process and to inform interested suppliers how to submit 
their proposals. 
Interested entities who wish to participate in the OIC must submit their design 
through the competition website: http://bamiyanculturalcentre.org/ latest by 
22/01/2015 at 23:59 hours, in strict compliance with the instructions as stipulated 
on the above mentioned website. 
UNESCO reserves the right to amend the documents at any time during the 
solicitation process. Any amendments or clarifications will be communicated 
directly to all Bidders who have requested for a complete set of solicitation 
documents and officially confirmed their intention to submit a sealed tender. No 
remuneration will be made to companies for preparation and submission of their 
tenders.
