II.1.4)Short description:
TenneT intends to build two platforms, which will connect wind farms. In order to reduce costs each platform will be based on the same design. The 2 platforms will be located approx. 25 km west off the Dutch coast. The offshore substations are to carry high-voltage switching and transformation equipment as well as auxiliary facilities. Intake power from the wind farms will be 66 kV, export power will be 220 kV.
Tentatively the topside size is L45 m x W21 m x H30 m and weighs approx. 4 500 metric tonnes. Weight of the jacket is approx. 2 000 metric tonnes.
The substations will be unmanned. All control is normally carried out from the onshore control centre.
