Umbau und Erweiterung der Grundschule

Elementary School design proposal combines the pedagogical adaptation of the spaces with the enhancement of the original building and its relationship with the city center. The project maintains the existing building, it will be used again for future generations.Therefore it prefers to renovate and build the expansion westward.
This strategy uses the available space into existing urban fabric and keeps unaltered the natural light to the surrounding buildings, particularly the nearby school. Project proposal interprets the idea of the building with traditional pitched roof and basement. The expansion proposes the morphological characters of the existing building. It is separated from it by a glass body, dedicated to the distribution functions. The volumetric decomposition gives the project a domestic scale appropriate and essential for its inclusion into balanced urban fabric.
