For Al Qasim Green University project UPA had been invited among many International consultants specialized in Educational planning and design. UPA submitted complete studies for the University planning and costs estimate which was selected as the best one from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in its planning of enhancement of Higher Education in the country.

The program of the newly established University is based on green technology education, comprising five colleges, with the presidency building and all related supportive facilities, including Sports Compound, Main Auditorium, Central Library, Entertainment Center, Power Building in addition to student housing and stuff accommodation of total built- up area of more than 130,000 sq. m on a plot of more than 1 million sq.m.

The University project is the first campus to be designed as Green University as per LEED design criteria, in order to register the Presidency building in the Green Building Council (GBCI) and to achieve the LEED classification.
