Projektbeschreibung
On behalf of and in close cooperation with the lead agency ATELIER BRÜCKNER GmbH, TAMSCHICK MEDIA+SPACE developed the 360° movie and sound design for the main show and the light choreography of the GS Caltex Pavilion at the 2012 Expo in Yeosu / South Korea.
Even from a distance, the “Energy Field” of the GS Caltex Pavilion magically attracts visitors at the Expo Korea. The so-called blades with a height of 18 metres sway gently in the wind like grass. Their constant movement symbolises the perpetual flow of energy in nature. The visitors can wander through the field. And simply by touching one of the blades energy impulses can be released and spread outwards in waves. At the centre of the pavilion, a 360° film – part of it interactive – metaphorically draws the viewer into the world of energy. Poetic images in a minimalist black and white aesthetic create an immersive experience. Music designed to fit the space complements the performance and helps to turn the artistic pictures into an immersive experience.

Beurteilung durch das Preisgericht
Mit seinem für die Expo Korea entworfenen Pavillon hat das koreanische Unternehmen GS Caltex ein wunderschönes Sinnbild für Energie geschaffen. Das sternförmige und verspiegelte Hauptgebäude, in dem die Besucher eine 360°-Projektion erwartete, wurde von 380 etwa 18 m hohen, illuminierten Halmen umgeben, die sich sanft im Wind wiegten, im Pavillon spiegelten und in ihrer Gesamtheit an ein überdimensionales Reisfeld erinnerten.
Eine insgesamt beeindruckende Installation, die das Thema Energie im Einklang mit der Natur kollektiv und individuell erlebbar machte. Poetisch.
