Projektbeschreibung

Improving the existential conditions of elderly people means to involve the population as a whole, considering the complexity of its surrounding. The territory of the small village of Monte therefore becomes an experimental laboratory where to look for innovative solutions to achieve a positive relationship between the well-being of the person in age and the environment that surrounds it.

The project intends to achieve this goal through a set of small-scale architectural interventions in the public space scattered throughout the village. Thirteen interconnected points of interest form an intergenerational path, that combines the needs of the elderly with urban, landscape, economic and social aspects of the public space.

Beurteilung durch das Preisgericht

In der Kategorie « Sonstige Bauten» erhielt das Büro studioser aus Zürich ( CH ) mit dem Projekt « Monte » eine Goldauszeichnung. « Hermann Czech verlangt in seinem Essay «Nur keine Panik», dass die Architektur Hintergrund sein und bleiben solle, Hintergrund für das Leben. Wer von einer Bergwanderung in der Umgebung des kleinen Bergdorfs Monte kommt, sich dort am Brunnen an der Ecke der Friedhofstreppe erfrischt und auf eine Bank zum Verweilen setzt, dem wird sich beim genaueren Betrachten eine kle ine Welt aus fein gestalteten Eingriffen und spielerischen Korrekturen eröffnen. »
