Projektbeschreibung
ACTA (Academic Centre for Dentist care Amsterdam) - Amsterdam
Architect: Benthem Crouwel
Completion: 2010
The new building of ACTA is a real eye catcher among the other 70’s themed buildings. The building has a total of 14 floors, the first 7 floors are part of the low rise building and the last 5 floors are part of the high rise building which is partly built over the low rise. The facades of the building are decorated with glass panels in a silkscreened black-and-white striped pattern which gives the building a dynamic view. The first floors of the building are open and are transparent. On this project, Sorba supplied the single glass fibre reinforced polyester, provided with a glossy coating to be used for the edges, railings, the underside of the walkways and escalators. The Aluminium coated panels on the outside of the building are 2.0mm thick with perforations. For the elevator fronts on all floors the material used was 1.2 mm RVS 304 panels which is glued on a timber backing plate.
