White City Center Tel Aviv - Establishment of an Israeli-German Center for Heritage and Architecture (Max Liebling House)

The members of the jury appreciated the concept which implied one feature as a clear symbol: the so called superstructure. This multifunctional structure was placed as well inside as outside the building. The proposed structure was considered as a means to attract attention and to invite visitors to enter the center. The structure that worked independently from the building was on the one hand seen as a fitting detail for different uses, on the other hand the detail was assessed as a sign that might even be too strong (and not enough connected to the special place and building) with a risk to mantle the original structure of the listed building.
