The jury considers the most significant value of the project to be very close to the current situation and proposing the idea of a renewed oval-shaped “pavilion” within the park while responding to the complex and partially contradictory requirements of the context. The jury has appreciated the approach of preserving large parts of the structure and the integration of a new main access of the building from the park side.
In regard of its functionality, the project provides a feasible concept on many levels and the jury appreciates the professional work of the authors. Functional requirements are well met, sustainability and energy efficiency are guaranteed. The determined building costs lie above the expected framework.
