Beurteilung durch das Preisgericht
This concept was most appreciated for its simplicity, which was acknowledged as attrac-tive. It, furthermore, allows extensive developments.
Most significantly, the jury applauded the idea of seizing on the East-western axis from the Agora to Parc Léopold, the so-called Promenade. Thus, it strengthens the public circulation between the city centre and the park.
As another prominent quality, the jury emphasised the transparencies of the Chamber and Committee rooms allowing views and insights from and to both, the Esplanade/Agora and the park, amplifying the emblematic idea of a transparent and approachable European Parliament.
Great strengths of the design lie in the disposition of functions. The project is amongst the best of the competition entries to meet the set of functional requirements and usability stipulations, including the Chamber but also the Committee, Trilogue, Media and Protocol areas.
Moreover, interior qualities such as acoustics and safety were assessed as above average.
