Technisches Rathaus / Tekniska Nämndhuset Söderstaden

We propose a new technical hall with inspiration from the transparency and structural simplicity of a greenhouse. The atrium building is divided into several volumes projecting into
each other, creating a greater variety of intermediate spaces and views.
Towards the motorway, a taller building volume is additionally wrapped and protected by a double shell façade - a screen that makes an architectural statement in scale with against the surrounding infrastructure and the large building volumes. Towards the park-planted public courtyard, the scale of the building decreases to create a more intimate and varied experience. The physical boundary between indoors and outdoors is dissolved through a fully open and transparent ground floor which merges with the park landscape.
